Maria Christine Colmenares (@xinevirtucio) shared a story.

Dagan Pasalamat...San Pedro Calungsod!

It was never my greatest desire to be lightning fast...I never thought of breaking records or podium finishes...when I started running...all I wanted to do is run...run...and run.Running keeps me sane. Running keeps me from unraveling. When I came down with an injury that required complete rest, I be ... Read More

Exactly what I felt today. I ran in Gaisano Anniversary Run with a hip injury. Describing it as fun wouldn't be appropriate as each stride was coupled with screaming pain. I seriously cried while running. Unlike my other runs, where my goal was to beat my PR; now, I simply prayed to cross that finish line. Twas memorable, very fulfilling not to get picked up by the ambulance. Keep running. Hoping for full recovery for both of us. :)

Maria Christine Colmenares (@xinevirtucio) October 13, 2013, 6:29am

@nicemasa i ran with people who are currently injured today...it was a good run for us....at least we did not end up limping to the finish line. Next run will be the Bradford Run...kamangon nalang daw namo ang 21k hahaha

Soybitz Rebojo (@vissueloreobojo) October 13, 2013, 3:04pm

Not yet on Kai Tin? :)

Maria Christine Colmenares (@xinevirtucio) October 14, 2013, 1:09am

@vissueloreobojo not yet...haven't found the time to start running on it...bussssyyyy kaau ang beauty....was planning to use kai on shorter distances and minimalist running shoes for longer distances starting with 21km....dli na pwede shortcut soi...natagam nako!

John Paul Villamor (@johnpaul.villamor.54) October 15, 2013, 1:35am

sakto jud! as sir Jacob advice, do it slow, short and increase the distance 10% per week. Let your feet muscles strengthen first . Lisod jud mag-shortcut aning KAI. Lisod jud mag too-much-too-soon/fast syndrome kay ma-prone ka sa injuries (been there done that).

Nindot para sa akoa ning KAI kay it let's you know kung may mali sa imong running form. After doing some research about how huarache sandals work and experimenting with my form, I come up with these, to know if improper imo form.

One indication kay ang blisters, do not scrape and/or push your feet instead lift your feet gently.

Next indicator is when you hear loud slapping sound while you run, this means you're over-striding. To avoid this, slightly lift-up your toes and do short stride instead but in high cadence rate. The slapping sound should only be light or can even be silent but not too loud that can disturb other runners.

Share ko lang.

Good luck soon-to-be KAI Runner! Keep on Running!

@johnpaul.villamor.54 salamat sa advice, been reading about those stuff too...i've been running on minimalist footwear since I started running. I was advised to use stability shoes when I had my feet analyzed, didn't really workout...my current running shoes practically do not provide any form of support...just minimal cushioning...haha...been wearing my KAI around the house..lol I think how you tie it plays a role.

John Paul Villamor (@johnpaul.villamor.54) October 15, 2013, 10:33am

there are many tying methods. ang gamit ko kay "gladiator style". Keep safe mga cebuanos.

Maria Christine Colmenares (@xinevirtucio) October 16, 2013, 10:49am

@johnpaul.villamor.54 haha being a girl has its perks...i came up with mine...i think...hahaha :D
